I always found the meals to be perfectly adequate (there was one year where it wasn't - but one in 9 isn't bad) and it kind of made astronomy easy by taking away some of the onerous tasks. Having said that it is no longer as affordable as it once was and last year I simply pack a whole bunch of 'lite 'n easy' meals to microwave. It worked pretty well and I will do the same again this year.
