AAO during full moon.
The Anglo Australian Observatory as it looks under full moon light.
The images were taken with my Nikon D300 using either the 11-16 f2.8 Tokina or the 28-70mm F2.8.
ISO was set at 100 and in most cases the exposure was 30 seconds
1) The dome of the 2.3M telescope
2) The View of the Warrumbungle National Park from the Trig point by the Skymapper dome.
3) The Entire Dome of the 2.3M telescope Rotates with the instrument. This image shows the Dome fixed while the Ground and Sky rotate past.
4) Another rotation shot showing Jupiter on the Easter Horizon.
5) The Dome of the 3.9M scope under full moon light with dome open for observing. Taken from the 2.3M scope.
6) Yet another rotation image with another person taking an image further down the steps.
7) This is a full 180 degree view of the domes on the top of the Mountain.
If I am correct in my assesment th4e scopes from the Left to Right are a 20", 24", 2.3M, 40" and the 3.9M in the distance. on the full resolution image you can aslo see the Schmidt and the Fawkes scopes. Looking like Daylight but taken at about Midnight.
8) The Skymapper scope with the trig point marker.
It was SO different being up at the top of the mountain during Full Moon and I was amazed at the look of the images. One thing I can say it was FU(&!^@ Cold. The temperature at the 2.3M was -2 and it was a Very Strong wind. My Freezer Suit was definatly a lifesaver.
