Misspent youth & comet Lulin

Wednesday night, 24th Feb I managed to gather North Island IISers John & Anna and Leon & Alice together for a few drinks & nibbles. An enjoyable evening was had by all, studying Newtons laws of motion, colliding bodies and tracking errors on the Large Alcock Thomson & Taylor Collider... (No Higgs Bosun particles were observed despite our best attempts.)

We finished the evening with a quick viewing of Lulin around midnight, through sucker holes, almost visible to the Naked eye, an easy binocular target and showing a faint tail. The view through an ED80 was slightly better, using a 25mm EP giving 24x mag (using a cheap 25mm Kelner from an old ebay scope). Interestingly we threw some higher magnifications at it but the views were not as good. At 24x Lulin nicely filled the FOV on the ED80.
