I am somewhat lucky to have experienced various "times" ....I bet there would not be many folk who were around when a horse and cart was normal in a country town.

Believe it or not , my wife grew up in Revesby in the southwestern suburbs of Sydney and as a little girl remembers a chap delivering the milk in their street on a horse and cart ( ice chest type ) This would have been around 1962
The milkman was probably given the choice of an old van to use but he stuck with the horse.
He was only around for a year or two , so says her older sisters and brothers
