When I was a kid in the 70's we just used a sling shot...
We have had our street lights upgraded to stadium power recently, I can play shadow puppets from 2 and a half houses away now... /sigh.
Some councils allow for a light shade to be put in place, depending on the area they want lit up, they can be made more directional.
