You might be onto something. Yes, they're exactly the same 9.1mb. Weather permitting, I'll try to save them as XISFs tonight and see whether, it'll make any difference. AstroImager doesn't allow changing the bit-size in preferences. The only options are FITS, XISF, TIFF, SER, AVI, MOV. Is there a way to verify the bit-size of the image apart from guessing from the file size?
