I'll have to see if SER works for long exposures then.
Played with PIPP last night. It seems to be mainly a frame quality system which allows rejection of sub-optimal frames in the video stream...

With the ASI 120now successfully converted to Peltier cooling I tried to set it to do DSO long exposure time imaging. It all looks good except for the fact that it cannot do FITS imaging as this does...

Video is the only real answer. I do 10 second bursts at 30+ frames per second then stack them. 3-400 frames has a chance to resolve some detail. The ASI 120 will do about 60 fps so even better.

Short direct is always better in my experience. The less connectors, boxes and length the better. Seperate ports is the way to go and from what I've heard use the same ports for the same device each...
