April 11, 2 pm. A short break in clouds allowed me to take this pic of the Sun today. Solarmax II 60 scope, single exposure with a Canon 550d camera. Not many sunspots but a few proms of interest....

There is a really solid alt az mount I use in it - available from Andrews.

Hi Shane, Thanks for comments. The LX600 is much heavier and larger than the LX90. The person who brought my LX90 did so because it was much lighter to shift around. Cheers.

Prominence erupts

Feb 18th, 10-14 am Central Vic.
Managed to capture this pic of an eruptive prominence this morning near Sun's western limb. It was gone one hour later. The eruptive one is at top right (larger one)....

Wed 29th Jan. Old sunspot group AR11944 reappeared this morning on the eastern limb together with old AR11946. But they have new numbers AR11967 (larger) and 11968 (smaller) resp..since sunspot...
