Are you saying you are finding this setup more susceptible to polar alignment errors than your other scopes?
I would have though it to be hard to find PA drift errors in 5 min exposures and at 1.17m...

Maybe your setup is counterweight heavy, the worm lifting the gear? Not that I think it's any difference on a Paramount...

I think you could use the 5x on these objects using a high frame rate camera then staking the best from the video. Your location would be favorable to I would imagine.

Do you have Tpoint? If so, do a polar alignment run and see what the Polar alignment report says. Then after you have done a large model, you can activate Tpoint to take care of tube flexure related...
