Gary, see my earlier post. I image with a modded Canon 30D and plate solve using Astrotortilla, which is free and doesn't require an internet connection (once you have downloaded the star catalogues).

I hear ya. Gully winds are a problem for me during Summer. The best times of the year to image are now and around October and November. Mind you, the RC8 copes well in the breeze.

Yeah I'm getting the red X as well :(
Fixed it. I think it relates to size of image. I cropped the original image and then did an overlay and it now works.
