I don't think so. I get the same result with and without protection enabled. The same internet security software worked fine with TSX on my Win 7 machine.

Are you saying you are finding this setup more susceptible to polar alignment errors than your other scopes?
I would have though it to be hard to find PA drift errors in 5 min exposures and at 1.17m...
