The eclipse from the Sunshine Coast was just about perfect, with no cloud near the Sun. Of course, no totality, but still impressive at 84%.

Our cat went nuts.... but only because she was chasing the solar film reflections all over the courtyard :)

The world didn't end, again. Back to work :)

Caught two quick glimpses through sucker holes in Newcastle.... didn't need glasses, the clouds provided enough filtration!

Watched the partial here in Perth as well. Looked quite atmospheric with heat shimmer and some light cloud in the way through the PST.

Got some shots of a 62% partial eclipse, I'll post later.

What a wonderful spectacle, I heard on the news that it cleared in Cairns just in time, can't wait to see their images.

Cheers

After a clear day yesterday, solid block of clouds here today.

Got a glimpse through the clouds for a few seconds of about 40%.
We were all disappointed, but we did get to see the sun with a bite out of it.
Too dim to see through the scope though.

Nothing but solid cloud here on Central Coast, not even a glimpse.

Today Shows coverage was excellent!

Woops...totally forgot...what time was it? Still remember the partial eclipse in 1979, dragged out the 3" Unitron and watched on the solar projection screen. Must be losing more brain cells than I thought

The clouds cleared just in time in Adelaide - got a decent partial photo - first time I've used the gear too!.

Cloudless skies this morning in Melbourne, lovely for watching the partial eclipse before heading off to work. Got a few nice happy snaps of the projected image of the eclipse, with sunspots, from the 5"scope, and really loved the tree dappling fat crescents all over the wall of the house!

Despite (apparently) a very cloudy winter/spring, melbourne's come up trumps for both sunrise events this year (transit and eclipse), so am well chuffed with that!

I have to give Melbourne where credit is due..... saw both the 2004 and 2012 Venus transits and 2002, 2012 eclipses. I recall seeing a couple of total lunar eclipses aswell including the Aug 2007 event.

Melbourne may have a defective climate, but somehow the major events of the last several years managed to escape clouds.
