Meade make a big thing of their patented RichView (TM) tuning on the latest generation of the SolarMax Ha scopes.....
I've searched the US Patent Office data and can't find either a patent or that "Richview" is a Meade trademark!
Has anyone actually seen this patent?????

At least this is the Coronado one. My understanding is that Meade bought Coranado? Patents can only be applied for by individuals, not corporations.
cheers,
Andrew.

Andrew,
Thanks for that. We have many Coronado patents on file but none really explain the "new" Richview concept.
The tuning method detailed seems to rely on squeezing the spacers between the etalon plates (which we find hard to believe!!) This design has been around since the early PST patent.....

Any chance they've applied for patent in another jurisdiction? There's no other recent, relevant US patents citing that one - as you've obviously found. There's a review on cloudy nights of the Richview system that comments that they appear to have changed the adjustment knob and not much more over the older tuning system.
cheers,
Andrew.
