Hi all,

I'm was on the ADM website today looking for a vixen dovetail adapter for me to screw in a set of tube rings. Then it also caught my eye that they have a camera adapter and also a counterweight.

Now buying all 4 is a bit cost prohibitive, but while I can't be certain from the pictures the V series camera mount http://admaccessories.com/V_Series_Camera_Mount.htm looks a lot like an extra bit bolted on the V series adapter http://admaccessories.com/V_Series_Dovetail_Adapter.htm

Likewise the DV series counterweight http://admaccessories.com/DV_Series_Counterweight.htm also looks a heck of a lot like the DV series adapter. http://admaccessories.com/DV_Series_Dovetail_Adapter.htm

Given how I won't be able to fit my camera and tuberings on at the same time, and how I won't need the counterweight if I have another tube which I can adjust to put weight where desired (i.e. mount heavy SLR further forward), can anyone confirm that I can simply dismantle the camera adapter and the counterweight to get at the required accessory plates?

cheers

Chris,

Just email Anthony at ADM and let him know what you want to do - he is very helpful in my experience.

Chris,
I use the ADM minirail system to mount guide rings, piggyback adaptors, spectroscopes etc etc. The attachment plate is identical for each and can be interchanged.

Thanks Ken, I think I'll go ahead and order without waiting for a reply from them.
