What is a good photography forum? Now that i am finally getting some decent gear i want to learn how to use it well.

Stay away from DP Review. Full of armchair sensor designers, pixelpeepers and manbabbies with too much money and no skill.
Photography on the Net, photo.net are a couple of good ones.

Have you looked to see if there is a Photography Club near you? Even Kilcoy has one. :) We have mini workshops and shoot out pretty frequently. Nothing beats having someone next to you pointing out the finer points. :)
Here you go.

Couldn't agree more, though the actual reviews on DPR are quite comprehensive and sensible.
I like POTN as well but I've got my most useful advice from www.fredmiranda.com (http://www.fredmiranda.com)

Also good idea to find a brand forum for your camera, Canon or whatever it may be. Users there can be very good sources of information.
