After nursing an infected tooth for a week I finally got it removed yesterday. it was a big molar at the back.

Currently the pain has dropped to about a 6/10 which is a little more tolerable than it has been for most of the night.

also living on a diet of soup and mashed potato and probably porridge for breaky Is an interesting way to lose weight. I'm sure there are better ways. :D

Cheers

:( You poor thing.
You have my complete sympathy, having recently gone through the same thing.
Our Paula (Forgey) here on the forum, has had a few attended to lately.
Same with Petra.

Hi Ric

Hope you make a full recovery. If 6/10 is the residual pain level, I would hate to imagine what it must have felt like before the extraction!

Get well soon.

Cheers

Dennis

Next time I need to get a tooth pulled, I'm going to do it like a boss:

Nothing worse than having pain like that so close to your brain and inescapable! I hope it gets sorted soon mate and you are pain-free.

Baz.

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone.

It is definitely a lot better this morning and the pain level has dropped considerably. It is now down to a manageable dull ache.

Tooth extraction is not something I would wish on anyone and for all the advances in medical science it is still a pretty invasive way to remove a problem tooth.

You do have to admire the human brain though and its ability to cope with this or any other type of trauma, you cannot remember what the pain felt like only that it hurt. I sure our brains have a big delete button for things like that.

No Troy, I wont be trying the car trick. :eyepop:

Hi Ric, yeah not much fun anything in your mouth. I know all about that diet, I have been eating like that for over 2 years since Radiation killed all my saliva glands and taste buds. Can't taste food so dont eat it. And when I do I have to have sloppy crap or I will choke. I am scared ****less if I have to have a tooth out as the radiation has damaged my jaw and I stand a real good chance of getting necrossis (I think that is how it is spelt) This is basically rusting of the jaw. Not a lot to look forward to really:sadeyes:

Hope you're feeling better Ric. I had two impacted wisdom teeth and a left over baby tooth removed, in one hit, back in February.
A week of home made mushroom soup (my wife is an ace at making that) followed by ice-cream and jelly almost made it worthwhile....

Hi Peter, that sounds really scary. Take care.

Hi Paula, four teeth out, that is definitely no fun at all. I hope it all goes well.

Hi Rob, my wife makes a wonderful pumpkin soup as well exept its the wrong season for pumpkins, I haven't even planted the seeds yet.

Hi Rick, glad ur feeling better mate. Man I reckon I'd die if I had to go that long without eating steak. Still can't imagine u had much choice. Eating steak with sore tooth .... not possible.

Hi Rex, I'm just getting onto harder stuff now.

Had some sausages and mashed spud last night and some toast this morning, all good so far.

I'll wait a bit longer before trying a steak. :D

It must be catching, something in the water, tomorrow I am going in for the same thing, the pain and swelling is causing my ears to ring continually.
Not happy.........

Ouch, that's a bugger Matt.

Hope it's a nice easy one to come out.

It's been nearly a week since my toof :P came out and I'm only onto semi soft food. Some chewing actions still make the old jaw ache.
