Today the Australian music industry has lost an amazing performer, a true gentleman and consummate professional.

Wow... how sad. I only just saw him perform, brilliantly, a few weeks ago, at the end of April - in "Go Show! Gold" at the State Theatre. That's two stars from the show that have now moved on. Darryl, and Ian Turpie. Golly... :(

He's forth from the left... he pounded it out with Zoot that night. He was fantastic.

I have a single of Zoot's somewhere from back in the 70's.
Sad news indeed.

I was lucky enough to play guitar for him in the late 90's. And yes, he really was a gentleman.
Sad news indeed.

I still have one. A cover of "Eleanor Rigby" done in hard rock! I loved it and still do.

62? Not good.

That's very sad .
I only just found out tonight after reading this thread.
One of my favourite songs that I play all the time is "Same Old Girl", and I think the next time I play it, it might just bring a tear to my eye. :(
He sure has been around for a long time, going back to the days of Zoot with my heartbreaker Rick Springfield.
