Great effort, Terry. Good science.

Can you tell a little more about the spectrograph ?

Do you know what the emission peak might be ?

Tony Barry

Tony,
Terry is using the Shelyak LISA spectrograph.

As Ken stated, I use a LISA spectrograph.
The big peak is Ha
If you look here (http://users.northnet.com.au/%7Ebohlsen/Nova/) I have labelled some lines on another nova spectrum.
With the Sco nova I'm less sure what the absorption lines are though. Some are just water in the atmosphere ( ie at ~7605A)

I've updated the info on this nova with more data and and now an animation on the development of the nova.

Excellent stuff!
Just shows what can be achieved with a low resolution spectroscope.
I hope it encourages others to try the same........

I have been able to get more data on this nova. The Ha line has now developed an absorption line on the red side.
An animation is at the bottom of my nova page.

Great stuff!
I'm just pleased someone is being able to do some observing....we're still clouded out in Belgium.
( I'm trying to determine which type of Nova data fits best - FeII class [I think so...] or the He/N Class)
