For Sale: Takahashi FCT 150 (The famous 6 inch fluorite refractor). $11,000 (buyer pays shipping). PRICE REDUCTION $9,900 !!!!
Comes with the dedicated F5 reducer (value $2500) and various adapters and 2 inch visual back and a dedicated scope-guard case (value $600). Tube rings (value $1000). Serial number 97002. Manufactured in 1997. Scope is in good condition considering it’s age. There is some minor cosmetic blemishes in the optics (that you would expect in a 15 year old) that do not interfere with the scopes performance. There are a few minor paint chips on the tube, easily fixed with some dedicated Takahashi touch up paint which is included!

The visual performance of this scope is outstanding with perfect colour correction, as you would expect. Features Japanese lens elements to produce the finest telescope of its kind in the world. The FCT-150 incorporates the highest quality fluorite, innovative baffling, and superb mechanical craftsmanship. It provides the highest contrast images to be seen in any refractor currently available, at any price. Subtle lunar and planetary images will be visible, as well as the fine filamentary detail in nebulae. I have kept the scope housed in an airconditioned observatory. The guidescope holder, the mount, cameras, flattener, the Robofocus unit, and the Losmandy plate are not included in this sale.

There are some images attached.

You can see the scope on my website and some images taken with it:

Tim,

Have you noticed there is a "wanted FCT 125 or 150" on Astromart at the moment?

Cheers

Steve.

To much writing mate, i start and do not finish, it could be set out much better.

I love the Tak, and have owned a great imaging rig myself, maybe that is why it is still sitting here.

People that know of the Tak quality, don't want the long essay, but just the facts.

Sorry but that is how i see it, you can fry me now if you like, but i say it the way i see it.

Leon
