View Full Version here: : Winter H-alpha sun

While the weather does not bode well for the transit, I did manage to image through thin cloud late morning.
The cloud caused less then perfect solar disk contrast, it showed me it was possible to get something half reasonable in less than pristine skies.
Anyway, here is the Sun on the first day of the (southern) winter.

Super shot as usual. Let's hope Wednesday is good. West of the range is our last hope. Sydney seems doomed.

Thanks Guys.... Ah...Wednesday...last time I was suckered into traveling west and sat under orographic cloud all day.
Will take my chances on the coast, and intend to image in H-alpha, Calcium and white light. My hope is the High pressure system will push north
