This is truely going to sound like an idiotic question, but I need to clarify what the time zone for Qld is. I know it is +10GMT, yet the autostar/LX90/ETX125 manual only shows these time zones:

Atlantic -4
Eastern -5
Central -6
Mountain -7
Pacific -8
Hawaii -10

Is this becuase it is American based setup.

Would appreciate clarification of what the correct time zone.

+10 is correct.....even being a American based set up you would still think it would accomidate the globe.

+10 is correct Chrissara

Most of their manuals forget there are two hemispheres.
Another quick way to check / setup yr site is to use the "add site" function.
Select Australia, then Brisbane.
Then just scroll through the data to see the settings it has created and their formats.

All the zones are in the Autostar itself - Perhaps our American cousins just need a little prompring as to how their decriptive time zone relates to GMT.

It's just a shame that it can't be made to understand that us Qlders don't do daylight saving!

It doesn't care.
All preprogrammed site data in the 497 HBx is based on std timezones.
Its up to you to select DST on/off via yr HBx if you want it.

In your case, that means one less button to have to remember.
