I hope to be the proud owner of a new CCD camera shortly and want to make sure I have the hardware set up properly. I want to run the camera with a flattener, a reducer or an extender/flattener. I want to check the distance from the back of the flattener etc to the plane of the CCD as I understand this is critical in getting a good quality image. This will help me order the necessary spacers.
Can someone point me at where I might find this info for a Takahashi refractor. Also what tolerance is there on this distance.

Which scope do you have? There are no older scopes in that list.

Thanks Robin. It is a new 130mm with the 2.7" focusser so on the list.

Also see this from Texas Nautical Repair (Takahashi America). They're very knowledgeable if you have queries. Here are links to measurements on my setup (TSA-120 with 2.7" focuser). The camera is probably different but there will be some info there that applies to your setup.
The reducer comes with a couple of rings that can be inserted to progressively reduce the image scale, so the distance for this isn't so critical.

Anacortes also has a table of metal back distances at their site somewhere. Not sure if its updated for TSA.
Tak Uncensored Yahoo Group is the best place to ask that.
A 1/4 of all posts there are about this sort of thing.
Makes you wonder why Tak and others don't put that data in with the promo or with the item when sold. Its the first question you need answered.
Also Precise Parts has an online adapter order form that calculates the price of adapters. He knows all these measurements.
