View Full Version here: : Mars from Melbourne this morning March 19
19-03-2012, 10:09 PM
Well although the centre of the high was right over Melbourne in time for the GP, the sky at about 1:30am this morning was never quite still thanks to high/medium level winds in the upper atmosphere according to Skippy Weather.
So average seeing conditions, but we must all make do with what we can get, and Mars never ceases to amaze!
Taken with an extra long extension tube on my 12.5" f/5 and 5 x Powermate as well as resampled 1.3x in Registax.

really good image John - the clouds in particular stand out very well and are spectacular. Fascinating to watch such features come and go on another planet. regards Ray

Nice detail John, but a bit green in the huge. You might like to take a look at that John.

Nice work John, some lovely detail. reckon the right balance lies some where between the 2 versions, although colour is always a subjective subject.
