I ordered a 10" Goto Dob last week. It must be getting delivered tomorrow because the weather man has predicted rain falls of up to 6 inches over the next day or so. :P
My sincerest apologies to everyone in SEQ.

Ha, you reckon you can race the flood waters do you? Our ground is super saturated already, all this water will go straight into the creeks and they'll rise in record time.

Geoff, it's a Sky Watcher dobbie. I ordered it from Steve at MyAstroShop. :D

If you mean am I swapping from DSO imaging to Planetary imaging, well, yes. :) I've been wanting to dabble in the planets again for a while now.
I might even slot an eyepiece in on occasion too.

I have done my part for the rain. We bought our first scope on saturday so of course it has rained continually ever since.

We did get to see the moon pretty up and close for about 15 min on sat night through a break in the clouds so that was pretty cool.

Yaaaay! She's walking back towards the light ... keep walking Nettie. :D
Congrats on the exciting new member of your scope family. :D

10" DOB does not equal a low intensity cyclone.
Now jjj has confessed but someone else has a new toy too. 'fess up.
Follow jjj's example. Must be a mean piece of kit.

Glad you are well jj and planning some VISUAL observing.
The latest S&T has an interesting comparison of imagers and visual observers.
Astronomy’s two major sects are “screen scanners” and “visual observers.” page 86

I just took delivery of a QHY5V OSC camera for planetary work. It arrived Friday and the rain followed Saturday.

Sorry.

Must be my obsy.
Only managed to get enough time to polar align and test - nothing in 6 weeks since.

So the flood waters have receded, the bridge into town is now open, so WHERE IS MY SCOPE!!!!

I thought so.:)

The combo of Mario and jjj buying new toys has not only messed the skies up but threatened Qld with a cyclone. Just as well you two 'fessed up. It was being considered some kind of punishment for you but you may now get off scott free. LOL :)

Enjoy your new camera Mario. Hope your scope arrives soon jjj.

Cheers
