Now I use the Televue Genesis as travel scope, excellent performance, but heavy mount + tripod to set up.
I found this Skywatcher mini tabletop Dobson for $150 which is 13cm (which theoretically should match a 10cm Apo) and weighs only 7kg thus a lot less than the 14kg of Genesis + SP mount.
But the low price seems that the quality is poor. Does somebody have experience with this (or a similar) scope ?

I saw one in an Australian Geographic shop a couple of months ago and it was setup. Mechanically it looked and felt OK for the money, and 130mm should be a not bad size (my first scope was 130mm),
but I would still be worried about the optical quality.

I was looking at one of these a while back as a quick grab n go. It'd be fine for the basics - moon, planets, M42, Omega Cent etc. but I don't think it'd match an APO and I definitely wouldn't use it for deep sky. Have a look at this:

Depends on what you mean by APO

Another Poor Objective, then yes, if you mean Apochromatic

not for $250, no way
