Check these crazy vehicles out!!!

They are the smallest V8 cars you'll ever see  (well, not even a car, it's a motor that you sit on!)

They are called a 'Hossfly'. Watch the video that loads on this page: http://www.hossflyinc.com/pics.html

Woo-Hooooooooooooo

Would like to see the power to weight ratio :P

They're not actually mowers at all - they're small cars that only go 25-30mph - even with all that power. At $13.5k that's bordering on insanity - even if they are a bit of fun. The most useless thing I've seen in ages, but I'd still like to have a ride on one! Even limited (because the COG is pretty high by the looks of it) to low 30's, acceleration would be rather brisk. What fun.

You'd really want a completely unallocated & spare $14k to throw away, wouldn't you? Not in my lifetime unfortunately.

The yanks love their V8's, that is a fact...

:eyepop::lol: Given the weight of this thing and the size of the wheels it would bog down inside the lawn at the first sign of reving. And any incline over 15 degrees and you'd roll down the hill with a chevy block on your head. Nice toy but useless IMHO. :nerd: :P Have you ever seen those weat harvesting machines crash derby in the US? They would race anything with an engine.

It's not a mower!!!! Where'd that idea come from - the shape?

You're right. I thought it was one of these (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVqygWSMQeQ). But I'm pretty sure I saw one before with just a chevy block like those minicars on youtube a while ago. I though was the same link. Will have to dig it out

Just Google "V8 chainsaw competition"
if you want to see what lunatics and V8s can do to trees
when their lawnmowers are having a rest.

Wouldn't be as much fun as I had when I put an old BSA motor on a cyclops toy go cart. The motor was a bit sick so I used to clutch start it in top gear going down the hill. That was hair raising when it fired.

We had it out one new years eve street party. My mate took it round the block but did not see the curb (no brakes). The front end disintegrated and threw him. He was too drunk to get hurt. The go cart never ran again.

If I had a spare 14k, I would spend it on a new scope. But then, there are plenty of people out there with enormous sums of disposable income that are looking for new and interesting toys.

BUT.........I would love to see the neighbours face when I mowed my front lawn with one of those :eyepop: Mower Wars, yahoooo! :P

I have a Greenfield E2000, ride-on. Its power output is 22HP and does 13Kph flat to the board. It has ample power to be geared up for higher speed. Oh yes, after the big rains in January 2011 I bogged the mower twice. Even with the diff lock on. Had to get off and push :mad2::D

My Grandson has had a little motorcycle since he was 7. I clocked him at 44Kph. The motor is about 150cc. Its too small for an adult to ride.

So those V8s are very much under stressed. I'd like to try one out myself.
Awesome but not practical.

Cheers

A bit on the loony side......
First corner.....
Trapped and crushed to death under a small block Chev

Now, if it had two less wheels.............?

Not to mention the peril of having a come-together with the hills hoist.

That steering column is pretty much all that's there to arrest your forward motion.

Even IF ya had the bux .. what would you do with it ???
It would be a NO GO on anything but concrete or bitumen.
You can forget the road .. that only leaves a hugh expanse of concreted area !!!!
And I thort america was doing it tuff ??? Must be wrong if someone over there can have a business selling strap on small blocks !!

Kevnool

Jeff If there making them then there selling them.
Maybe the Jackass mob and Bam Margera would certainly put big orders in.

To be honest, the Donk needs to be mounted in a Go-Kart frame. Then it would look easier to drive and more fun

The Specs say:
Forward Speed at 5,000 RPM - 25 mph
Reverse - 5 mph

That's not much fun
