Hey guys, quick image to get something to learn processing. 20 minutes of rgb data and an hour of H-alpha.

Yeh, a good effort Peter

How did you combine it all?

Good show Peter!

Thought you have a reflector; what's happened to the diffraction spikes of the stars?:P

Cheers

I tryed a new method for combination because previous to this I had alot of trouble with colour balance. After stacking I added about 40% of the HA to the red channel. Then I combined the RGB images into a colour image ( I did not use the HA for luminance yet ).

I took all of this into photoshop and used dust and scratches on the colour layer to remove most of the stars. The layers were aranged like this

Colour set to colour blending mode

Colour (opacity 40%) (desaturated) set to multiply blending mode

HA

With it set up like this I could stretch the HA layer without washing out the colour too much. I played with the vibrance and saturation of the top colour layer and the opacity of the middle one.

When I was happy I combined them. I did a few final things (High pass filter and some sharpening) and this was what I got.

Great. Really well done natural processing and excellent data too. One for the cool wall.
