Will be reopening the observatory soon so I need to get the website up again.
Dose anyone out there have a recommendation of website building software suitable for a recovering luddite .
Must be fairly simple to use and update but give a decent result if such a thing exists.
Any pointers much appreciated .

Thanks
Zane

I use Coffeecup HTML editing (http://www.coffeecup.com) software mainly now for editing, although I use Content Management software Joomla now predominately adding simple article for content - eg: www.listeningsolutions.com.au is Joomla with a paid template which I hope to make mobile accessible.

I use Google Photo for private images but i hope to use Joomla for science based imaging over time.

If your intentions are to use the website purely as a front to voice your work I'd strongly recommend using a CMS (content management system) like Malcolm suggested. A CMS will remove all the nitty gritty coding behind a website and offer you building blocks to play with, WordPress, Joomla! and Drupal are examples of popular CMSs for blog style websites (and more). Hit Google, have a read of their pros and cons and find something that fits your needs best.

If you're after quick and easy you can't go past Web Page Maker (http://www.webpage-maker.com/). There's a free version you can try.
I used it to create a weather/webcam site for my employer because we didn't really have the time or resources for anything fancier.
I think the results are quite decent ... http://insvr1.midcoastwater.com.au/MCWWX/

What do you want to do with the website? Just to display images? Or a bit of a blog?

If just images, have you seen http://astrobin.com ?

Thanks everyone for your input .
Thanks Andy I like look of the website you made I'll check out that software.
Troy it will be a website to promote the observatory and take bookings , I don't think I need a blog.

Thanks
