The link leads to some really great sketches from the Victorian Era. There is a distinct Gothic/Art Nouveau style to most of them but that doesn't detract from their beauty.

Amazing! There is a fantastic amount of detail shown for an 1880 telescope.
I wonder if he knew the black spots are Moon shadows?
He really captured the swirls in the clouds well.

Sounds a bit Cat Stevens'ish doesn't it? Moon Shadow :lol:
