Hard to believe it has been that long. I can remember where I was when I first heard about it. So sad

I first heard him and the Beatles as a 20 year old soldier in Germany in 1962, as a Scouser myself was proud of the boys from Liverpool led by John:)
His killing 18 years later left a big hole in our lives:sadeyes:
John ! you are saddly missed:sadeyes:

Huge loss. Very sad day. :(

So long ago.
Was it in a dream?
Was it just a dream?
I know, yes I know.
It seemed so very real,
seemed so real to me.
Took a walk down the street.
Through the heat whispered trees.
I thought I could hear.
Hear.
Hear.
Hear.
Somebody call out my name (John)
as it started to rain.

No.9 Dream

What a switched on dude that J.L was.

My son and I were searching Youtube stuff today for a good
version he could learn chords to. He's playing it on carols
night for his school, solo on his electric.
Well we came across this video. I think it might even have been posted
by Yoko herself.
Song is towards the end. The whole thing...well, lets say got us a bit
emotional. RIP John.

Yes 31 years ago it was a day more than the music died.

I prefer to remember him the first time I saw the Beatles up close 47 years ago when John, Paul & George arrived at Sydney airport on a BOAC 707 (Ringo arrived later).

Such was the security concerns of the 60s, over a 1000 kids camped in the cold and then rain out on the tarmac.

I "was just 17" just as their song goes and was working at the International Terminal (Now Qantas Domestic gates 1 - 5) and just "accidentally happened" to be under the left wing of their 707 as they walked down the steps and onto the truck.

I found this news clip a few years ago:

I could not afford the tickets but my brother went to their concert in Sydney which was literally a riot although he heard very little of their voices.

Sadly missed, but we still have his music and those interviews.
