QHY8 drivers in Win7 32-Bit - help please

I'm seriously on the edge of chucking this in. I bought an ATIK11002M that turned out to have an undisclosed whacking great column defect thet even the best darks won't remove; so I bought a new SXVR-H18 that turned out to have a tendency to retain the previous image and superimpose it over the next; a Lodestar that has more snow in it than Kisciusco, then I have 2 QHY5s one of which has just decided it won't recognise it's drivers any more, an astrograph that won't collimate, a new ED127 that needed a new focuser to do even the most basic stuff and last but not least, a QHY8 that simply won't talk to me in Windows7 and will only condescend to take monochrome images in a bodgie ASCOM driver that I never heard of before and then only with Nebulosity.

I am so fed up with paying good money for products that just don't work.

SO to relieve my immediate steress levels, can anyone perhaps put up in the IIS FTP server a set of drivers (including Maxim) that will work in Win7 32-Bit. Please.

Are you getting the drivers from here:

I think you need both the QHY8 64/32bit winUSB Driver (http://www.qhyccd.com/files/QHY8Drv64.zip) and the QHY8 ASCOM Driver StarSenseSci V2.0 (http://www.qhyccd.com/files/QHY8ASCOM-StarSenseSci-V20.exe) if you are using the camera under Ascom in Maxim.

Hello Peter. Yes, I've tried those. And then I tried the Gama set and then even tried a set I had back in the good old XP SP2 days that just 'worked'.
I'll try these new ones again. You never know.
But not now.
Right now, I have had enough for a day or two.

There are also links to the old drivers on that web page but I think you need to un-install other drivers using the un-install utility.

Peter, the mono QHY8 image should only need debayering. You might have to fiddle with the x/y offsets to get the colours right.

IIRC recent versions of Nebulosity don't debayer by default. You have to set it in the options, and if the driver doesn't tell Neb the right info it can't debayer when reading the image from the camera.

Given all that I'll try to test it with my QHY8 and Win7 64bit box.

Hi Peter,

I have been using a QHY-8 single shot colour with Windows 7 64 bit for about a year now. My initial problems were related to the drivers. Ensure you are using the correct drivers and make doubly sure you have only ONE QHY-8 driver in the directory. I had two drivers in the QHY-8 directory and the camera would not work at all.

I still think dithering will solve all your Atik woes Peter. The fact the Titan tracks so tightly is the only reason you suffer so much from that colum defect. I had a dig around and this was the software I recalled that (supposedly) allows dithering with Maxim and Phd if of interest:
