Hi folks,

I'd like to copy an aerial image from google maps. How can I do this?

Alex.

Alex, I have used the print screen button on the keyboard( it saves it to the clipboard), and then pasted it into either a word doc or photoshop.

And Ctrl+Alt+Print Scrn will copy just the active window ie. the browser.

And ... look for a tiny program called CAM32. Many around like it. It lets you crop whatever part of the screen you need. Very handy for pasting into an email or Word or Photoshop etc.

Thanks also Dave. I'll chase it down. It'll come in handy too.

If you have W7 it has a tool called Snipping Tool. If not try a search for it.

Seems like you have already done it and I'm not sure of your purpose. However if you need an up to date aerial photography try nearmap.com (http://www.nearmap.com).

Hi Aaron, if you look at the time marks you'll notice the image I posted followed on from Bart's initial post, ;).

"nearmap.com" looks like a good tool too. I had noticed some of google maps images were quite old. The one over my house is at least 2 years old - some of the features shown in the backyard disappeared that long ago.

Alex ,
+1 nearmap.com
they are more up to date then/than Google maps.....
I even have found myself on one of their maps when my car broke down!!!!!
