I wonder how many people are aware of this fantastic free software created by Martin Schweiger, physicist from University College London.
Orbiter 2010 can be downloaded here (http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk). A dynamic and devoted community provides enormous amounts of addons through Orbiter Hangar (http://www.orbithangar.com) and support on Orbiter Forum (http://www.orbiter-forum.com/). More links are available on the Orbiter page.

Orbiter lets you learn how fly both actual and futuristic spaceships - from Luna, Sputnik, Saturn V, Space Shuttle to non-existent surface-to-space vessels.

All this with preserving all physics laws, which gives you to learn first hand how to perform space maneuvers, like orbital changes, rendezvous with other vessels, or docking to a space station.

I will just send you to this Unofficial trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aE-2sVjRIE) to increase your appetite.

Also check this movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I__jYojbMYQ) to see how dramatic and spectacular reentry is in Orbiter.

And another fantastic movie about Apollo 11 mission (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whSUsAnU_Pc) reenacted in Orbiter.

For most of us, this is the closes to a space flight we can get :D

A word of warning: Orbiter is very addictive!
