My SWMBO Cheryl has always openly said that she has no interest in Astronomy.

When people ask if she is into astronomy too she always says "no, that's Ken's area. I leave that hobby to him, it doesn't interest me".

Tonight when I arrived home she walked out to the front yard, looked up to the East and said "wow, the Moon and Jupiter look nice tonight"

She was right! It was Jupiter!
The pair did look lovely as Jupiter hung there brightly in the east right under the Full Moon
She has been quietly listening and learning over the years ;)

No interest, my foot!

That's nice Ken

I asked my wife once which way she thought North was and she pointed straight up...I have no hope

She obviously learned her compass directions on a trip to northern Canada where North is pretty much straight up... at least at the pole.

If you were standing at "The Pole" ....
....wouldn't North be straight down ?

could be a matter of perspective but to me at the north pole south would be straight down? certainly the magnetic north pole would be heading upwards. But any more and it is a hijack?

My wife Kee has some interest but only in summer when its warm. :D

She does know the main constellations and the names of the brightest stars as well as being able to track down the Magellanic clouds.

I think she's doing pretty well.
