Sorry guys, it's my fault... it seems like it's been non-stop rain and cloudy days in Brisbane these past couple of weeks since I bought my scope and mount :P

I'd like to take some of the blame too.
I bought an EQ6 Pro last weekend...and when did the rain start...
Sorry,
Ken.

I'm currently inside with my QHY5 & QHY8L attached to the laptop testing new drivers.... I was hoping to be using all this paraphernalia for real tonight but maybe tomorrow night will be better....

It's clear everywhere but to the north here.
So I'm playing with drivers and programs and cameras instead.
Haven't given up all hope yet of it clearing. :)

If it helps I can set fire to my EQ6...offer it up as a sacrifice as it were.
On second thoughts perhaps I can torch some of my neighbour's trees to improve my view.
Maybe not loud noises and bright flashing lights upset me.
Ken.

I woke up this morning to clear blue skies... but now the clouds are starting to roll in again. Such a tease!

I'm definitely seeing the value of an observatory. With the 2-3 hours it takes to set up, polar align, and pack up completely, I just don't want to risk it unless it's guaranteed clear skies :(

Last night was fantastic here in Brisbane despite some high cloud!! I managed to do some imaging, only getting about 4 hours sleep - and on a school night as well!! God I'm so happy!!!!! :D

The bits between the clouds were great. :)
A very enjoyable night.

I had to get up early today so I gave up when the clouds moved in. Perhaps I should have persisted...

How do the clouds know that I've finished polar alignment? It's uncanny...

They're magical astronomy clouds. I packed up as soon as I saw the first one moving in.

They're gone again now but my target is about to disappear behind the house.

Just when I had my mount drift aligned for the first time last night, in came the clouds...

I was stoked that I had the chance to observe the moon against the blue sky before sunset, and watch it magically pop in contrast as the sun set and the Earthshine lit up the other bits. Even managed to take a photo of it... bonus.

I'm loving the whole seeing things in the sky up close for the first time and then taking photos of them. Two hobbies for the price of one :D

It's certainly magic when it works out, Dave!
