As I sit here typing this question it seems that I am not moving at all.
But if I take into account the combined rotation of the earth on it's axis at over 1600km/h, the speed of the earth's rotation around the sun which is over 100,000 km/h and the solar system rotating around the galactic centre at over 820,000 km/h then I really am moving at cracking speed, yes?

Astronomers recon that the most distant galaxies are moving away from us at near to the speed of light as the universe expands. Would that not mean that from the perspective of those far flung places we are moving away from them at the same speed?

That being the case (if it is the case) then we must all be traveling at close to the speed of light.

Is this proposition correct?
