So i have a Dew-Not dew dual channel controller that comes fitted with a 12v cigarette lighter plug. I want to run it off a 240vAC power supply. Can anyone give me an idea of what adaptor to use. Specs are as follows.
Microprocessor based dual channel controller UL 94V0 enclosure
Zero to 100% output control per channel.
Two outputs per channel (may be increased using DNS splitter, sold separately)
10 amp capacity
6 foot power cord fused @ 10 amps

Something like this would do.

You would need to cut off the cig lighter plug or use a cig lighter socket with clip/bannana plugs. Jaycar sell those as well as the power supplies.

Basically anything that outputs 12VDC and a few amps will do.
You might even be able to use some of the ubiquitous cell phone chargers or computer power adapters.
Ideally if you have access to a multimeter, try and see what current the fully loaded controller needs. You might only need 2A for your application and finding a source that does that is easier and cheaper.

Good luck!

An old power supply out a desktop computer supplies DC 12v and 5v at high amperage, and can often be picked up for free.

You could solder on a cigarette lighter socket for ease of use.
