leave it in the upright position and put a few wooden logs around the base. Disguise it as a fireplace/chimney.
Cunning? Like a fox

If Galileo could only see me now.
"I now I give you Rollo our Human Canonball - see the huge canon which will fire him over the house into the pool on the other side (especially if his missus catches him with it!)"

D'you know why they cut they cut the front out of the rockerbox like that in the nth hemisphere???
Its so they can see the center of the milky way :D :D :D
If you had velcro tabs up the side of the cover you could always open the cover out and say its a new shade sale for the entertainment area. ;)
So that's what a 6 inch F40 looks like

wow, you know you've got a big scope when the secondary mirror has more girth than its human owner!

How do you get up to the eye piece. I am thinking a mobile scaffold. Using a ladder would be not worth dying over. God damn that is a really big scope. Stand it upright and put tree branches out the top and say it is a tree. Hide if from the Mrs, only if she is totally blind.
Mind you, you'd need a neutral density filter just for mag 10 stars!! :screwy:
:eyepop:
You'd better explain it to the neighbours or you'll wake up to an ASIO raid one night.

Alas, poor Colin, I knew him well...
Found crushed under the mangled wreckage of a supposed 'telescope'. His dear wife remarked "I just got home and saw it for the first time. Next thing you know, a gust of wind came from no-where, and bang! The ladder toppled and Colin made a desprate grab for that 'thing' "...

Nah a cherry picker would be needed for that one as to hiding it isn't someone working on an INVISABILITY CLOAK that would work.

Just goes to show that scope envy never stops. I thought at 25" I had overcome that nagging desire to keep up with the Jones.
You would need one of those Electricity company power pole trucks just to install the upper cage. Plus, above a certain height don't you need a riggers licence? That monster should have OH&S certification (LOL)
