Hi all,

I've been trying to decide on what Lunar features to chase down to sketch recently, and I'm looking for a Lunar phase calendar site that will show a larger image of the phases in advance than the phase calendar on the left margin here in IIS.

Does anyone know a good site?

There is one very difficult feature I'd like to chase down, "The Cross on the Moon". This feature is caused by chance illumination of the lunar surface along the terminator, but only lasts for some four hours. A good phase calendar would be a great tool to help chase down this fleeting shadow.

I'd also be able to better decide upon which Lunar features to chase down in advance. For this I'd need a larger phase image also.

Cheers,

Mental.

I don't know of a site with a large moon, but Virtual Moon Atlas can show moon phase along with detailed mapping of the surface.
