Here's a curly one:help: I need advice and help. I want to fit a small sliding counter weight to my soon to be delievered Lightbridge. The counter weight needs to be only about 300grms.
Does any one have a small system that they no longer use. Or could anyone help with how to make one:help3: :help3: :help3: :help3: Thanks, John:)

I just looked on the Meade website for my first look at the Lightbridge. I see it has a metal optical tube. If this is the case then you could use a powerful magnet (wrapped in cloth to avoid damage to the paint work) and simply move the magnet up and down accordingly. Magnets from old microwaves or large speakers should do the trick.

John
i've successfully made counter weights by glueing large washers together.

I have 2kg of lead strapped to the back of my dob. I used divers weights of a type which are flat (about 8mm thick) and rectangular in shape for slipping into a pocketed weight belt. About $2 each from memory.

At the top end I have a large speaker magnet which I move down the tube if I want to slip my 31mm nagler in the focuser ;)
