Sky Watcher Mak 180 focuser upgrade.

Hi all,:)
thought I mite share some work i have had done on my Mak 180. Now your normal SCT has many accessories that you can attach to it. I really like the focuser's you can put on SCT . So I wanted to do the same on my Mak.
Now the older versions had 1.25" backs, so scope stuff in the US had adapters to fit Maks then you could use various SCT accessories to your Mak.
The new version of the Mak from Sky Watcher the black diamond version has a different back. Its bigger so to use a 2" diagonal. But you cant screw any SCT accessories.
But I wanted to use the 10/1 focuser on my Mak. So good friend Greg from the MPAS made the adapter for me. Result is as you see in the pictures.

Much happier with focusing now.:thumbsup:

Nice result David - I'm surprised you haven't had any comments from others with the same scope - or even requests for adapters :) . Maybe it would have recieved more attention in the Equipment forum.

How good/bad is the main focuser on these scopes?

Tony I was not looking for comment really. Just letting people who have this scope know that you can put attachments on them like a focuser. The main focuser works very nicely but as with any scope like this when you move the mirror you get vibration in the image which is not ideal for precise focusing. Not to hard to focus something at 50x but at 270 x much harder. So i have solved this with this focuser.
