Hi everyone!!
A quick couple of questions.
I'm still sorting out my autoguiding and am looking at the QHY5 to use attached to my guidescope. Does this camera work with Windows 7 and is it a good, cost-effective (read cheap) camera?
Cheers,
Mario

It should work with Win7 and yes, it's cost effective:)

I'm not sure about windows 7 but its a great guidecam for the price. I can always find a star with 1-2sec exposures. Very easy to use with PHD.

Didn't they release drivers for Win7??. Works OK for the others.

I've done a bit more research and they have released Windows 7 drivers - both 32 and 64 bit - on www.qhyccd.com.

Ahh thanks Mario.
I am looking at Win7 upgrade as I'm running it on other systems ATM and it's all what vista should have been.

It works well with windows7 but requires the 32/64 bit drivers from QHYCCD and the Ascom drivers from www.astrosoft.be (http://www.astrosoft.be) and the latest version of Ascom platform.
It runs on winblows 7 for sure :P
Use the ascom drivers and the base drivers (32/64 bit ones).

Thanks everyone for the advice and help on this. The guidecam is the last piece to the rather large jigsaw that I've created for myself called "Guiding and Imaging". Once I get that sorted then I'll be able to get back to the imaging....:)
Cheers,
Mario
