I will be shortly fixing keypad on my Austostar using Rubber Keypad Repair Kit.
The kit repairs over 50 rubber button contacts and as I only have one keypad to fix I thought it would be good idea to use what's left over on another item.
The kit works on any rubber/flexible carbon contacts - TV remotes, garage remotes, telephone keypads, etc.
So if you are in Newcastle area & want to fix your keypad/remote for free let me know within next few days.

Cheers

You wouldnt read about........Well I guess I just have........

I just bought a replacement rubber membrane to repair my Autostar II.

I havent tried it yet but I am hoping thats all is wrong with it.
My buttons have become increasingly more troublesome over the last 6 mnths.
I have to push the buttons very hard to get any rsponse from them.

I may try your remedy next time if I can get your repair kit somewhere.

Good luck with your repair.

I bought the kit and did my Autostar keypad. It did a superb job! I think it would be much better than a replacement membrane - the result is much better than new, I believe. Then I looked for anything else that needed attention. Couldn't think of anything. After several days and after the remainder had dried out, I suddenly thought of some other keypads/remotes that needed the treatment

Dave, you'll just have to remove the batteries.

I bought my kit from WES Components (http://www.wescomponents.com/) as per
Mardy's post. (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=57756/)
The keypad works a s new now.
