Down boy.

MuntiNZ, did you find that picture on the CN forum? There's a similar post there about this mount.

If you take a look over on the ASA Yahoo forum you'll see the progenitor message, posted by Gerald Rhemann, a DDM85 owner. He took that picture while visiting the ASA workshops. He has promised to post a video soon, which I'm sure we'll all be eager to see!

MuntiNZ, I envy you. Please keep us updated with your experiences with the DDM85. You may well be(come) the owner of the most advanced telescope mount in any Australian amateur's hands.

Hmmm. Very interesting indeed! That mount is beginning to get some attention over at CN too.

It's kind of interesting to see the way things are changing: Until a little while ago, as far as most Americans were concerned, there were American mounts and Takahashi mounts.

Then there were American mounts, Takahashi mounts, and cheap Chinese mounts.

Now it's American mounts, Takahashi mounts, cheap Chinese mounts...and all of a sudden a wave of bleeding-edge advanced technology mounts from Europe leading the charge into the future.

Nobody can say it's not a great time to be in the market for a telescope mount, that's for sure!

True dat!
I got my Tak EM-11 and its a beaut but I thought that there was only Tak and Paramount and AP for mounts so it was a eye opener to find out about all the awesome mounts in europe I had never even heard of!
Theres a page with all the mounts listed on it and comparing the specs and prices etc and theres HEAPS of them!!
Most people wont even have hard of more than the APs and Paramounts etc etc.
