Quoted from the page http://www.celestron.com/news/ces_innovation.htm

"About the size of a camcorder and weighing less than 16 ounces, the Celestron SkyScout utilizes a consumer-friendly “point and shoot” technology that enables stargazers to point at any visible object in the sky, press a button and listen to commentary on the object and its history. The SkyScout also has a “locate” feature that allows users to select an object they wish to view (i.e. Mars) and the SkyScout, using illuminated arrows in the viewfinder, will actually point the user to the object."

What'll they come up with next :prey2:

Looks like a great toy or educational aid. How about buying one Geoff and doing a review before I recommend it to the Mapleton Observatory.

I wonder how much???? and if it could be mounted to a piggyback bracket so it could run while someone looks at the object being described through a scope?

Here's a bit more info that isn't the Celestron Media release that most sites seem to have. http://www.gizmag.com.au/go/4379/
