After reading the article in this months Australian Sky & Telescope by Dennis di Cicco about photographing through the eyepiece with a mobile phone, I thought I'd give it a try..here's the result:D

Good one. And I love the way you have picked up the subtle colouring of the lava flows on the surface ;)

A difficult subject at near full moon, so pretty impressive.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments, now I need to try it with my DSI! The first time I tried using it, I failed dismally a)because I really didn't know what I was doing and b) because I was following Meade's instructions..I have since found several user sites, that recommend NOT to follow Meade's instructions if you want success! So I'll try the steps that they recommend and see how I go.

To be Honest I didn't know what I was capturing! The resulting image was more good luck than judgment. As soon as the image appeared on the phone's screen I pushed the shutter button and hoped for the best!

hey yea! I loved that artical, it actually enspired me to grab my camera out and put it through the lens of my telescope, not that i have been able to take any images yet because its nothing but cloud here
