The one big disadvantage of the ES14 in comparison to the Ethos is indeed the weight factor. With the ES14 been 300g heavier, it is quite a difference (I can barely use the ES14 even with counterweights on my 10" LB). Optically though they are very similar and unless your an expert at the eyepiece you won't notice the difference.
