It's finally here!

Well, after about a month & a half of waiting, I've finally got my Baader UHC-S filter. It took about 5 weeks to get here from Germany, then a week to get sent from the supplier to the wrong store, to which I had to go to to get it from today. It therefore stands to reason that tonight was the heaviest storm I've seen for years. I can only hope tomorrow is more forgiving...

A question. What happens with haze? Can this filter still work under bad seeing or do you need an empty, still sky?

Interesting results so far.:question: The filter hasn't had any real effect on visual use but has had quite the effect on the photos. I've been testing it out on M42. The background darkens a little, but there is no seeable difference in nebulosity. In the photos however, it quite effectively blackens the sky while keeping the colour and shape of the nebula. Is this what is to be expected, or do my eyes need more dark adaptation time?
