A little advice need please on mounting a guide scope rail on a C8.

I've (I am) mounted/mounting a vixen 13" dovetail rail (https://www.bintelshop.com.au/Images/Stock/6922X.jpg) on top My C8 with some Losmandy VCB8 blocks. (https://www.bintelshop.com.au/Product.aspx?ID=8334) I chose this method because of costs and are hoping it'll work.

The intention is to mount my WO 70ED scope on this rail. As those with this scope know it has a "L shaped foot (http://www.williamoptics.com/telescopes/zenithstar70_feedback.php#)" with threaded holes (around 50mm apart on the bottom of the L bracket) that is excellent..aka I can bolt it down real tight virtually zero differential flex (that I know of).

Here's the rub...I was thinking of drilling equidistant holes along the aforementioned rail so I can move mount the scope and move it back & forth by moving it between these holes. This is to achieve balance for C of G but is cumbersome at best.

But, a better idea might be to mount the "L bracket" on to a a Losmandy V series adaptor "VA (https://www.bintelshop.com.au/Product.aspx?ID=7823)" so I can slide the guide scope fwd/back.

Has anyone used a similar arrangement to this Losmandy VA bracket to mount a guide scope?
Will the bracket be strong enough to hold the guide scope without movement?
Is the bracket large enough to fit the WO "L bracket foot" on to it?

Or, maybe if I'm worried about movement should I buy the ADM "V series saddle (http://www.admaccessories.com/V_Series_Saddle.htm)" . This would certianly fit the "L bracket" and clamp it down tight. ADM will do any drilling configuration I like for nix!

Just testing the waters of peoples experience here! I'm inclined just to do the drilling's or maybe get an ADM saddle. This would make life a
lot easier!

I want to get it as right as I can 1st time. If I use one of the ADM saddles or Losmandy VA brackets I can move the whole guide scope & rail on to my ED80 & rebalance it very easily..I'm kinda leaning that way.

Finally...the damn C8 mounting holes. The top has 2 holes at the rear I can bolt down to hold the Vixen rail (with the Losmandy VCB8 blocks) but the front only has 1 x 3/16's hole for the block. Has anyone re-drilled/threaded their front housing to accept bolts at the same spacing of the rear threaded holes?

I'd have to disassemble the front lens 1st as any drilling's would almost be right on top the lens! Something...I'm not keen on just yet.

So if anyone has the patience to read my blurb & respond...I would appreciate it.

Well after drilling the V dovetail with 1 3/8" spaced holes to fit the WO "L" bracket and screwing/bolting it all down...it fits.

But... it's too hard to access the dovetail end mounting screws thus it's impossible to remove the dovetail with the scope still mounted.

I thus need either a Losmandy VA bracket or ADM V series saddle.

Moral of the story...don't try to be too cheap!:(
