Some pictures of the mod.
They speak for them self i hope.
I left the side open and made sure i could fit the usb connector in the camera.
You could also make a slot in between the connectors and fit the copper/alu through there.
The brown insulation on both sides of the cmos is draft strip that is cut to be just above the cmos.
The white bit is thin foam tape, both are self adhesive.
The black tape is electricians tape but you can use any thin tape you want.
The whole strip is held in between the cmos and the cover that is on the top pcb, so it sits very secure.
I have made a alu strip from the tripod hole to the fan chamber to take all the weight of the strip that goes into the camera.
Next mod will be the cold box with a twist :P

This mod will be so the whole camera will be cooled and also with the strip fitted onto the peltier that is outside the box, this will cool the camera even more (inside and out).

Will make pics of that new mod when i start on it :screwy:

Gary just be careful with static electricity.
Don't do this on a nylon carpet.

Leon if we don't do these things then nothing will happen :P

I shall lock myself away in the caravan away from the kids and have been collecting some antistatic bags!
Martin, would there be enough room to put the cold finger through under the extension terminal on the bottom of the camera instead of between the remote/usb bit?
Still trying to work out the cabling so I can get to the usb and remote sockets. Might make myself up some short extension leads?
cheers

Made more pics but now on the scope.
The small guide scope is a self modded finderscope with my QHY5 in it.
As you can see there is room to undo the usb cable.

No you can't go from the bottom of the camera, but as you can see in the new pics, you can still get to the usb port.

Thanks Martin! shall keep my thoughts to exiting the side, managed to pick up some .6mm copper plate .
Notice that it is supported underneath to the tripod socket. Exactly as I was thinking of doing!
I am also contemplating adding a small tube into the camera next to the finger connected to a small container with silicone desiccant housed with the extension leads.
Thanks for your help!
